Booking, Intake, Property, and First Court Date
The jail handbook says a person may be held because they have been charged, sentenced, or held for another agency. On admission, personal property is inventoried and stored, money is entered into an inmate money account, and the person goes through search, screening, classification, and housing assignment if custody continues.
If the person cannot post bond, pay a fine, or otherwise secure release after admission and processing, the jail handbook says the person will be classified and assigned to a cell, block, or bed if room is available.
